Privacy policy

This policy describes BeatPop for iPhone and iPad and its public support website.

Voice and Tap practice

Voice practice uses your microphone only during a practice round. BeatPop processes microphone audio locally on your device to detect the timing of your syllables. Audio is temporarily held in memory, is not saved as a recording, and is not uploaded by BeatPop. Tap practice does not use the microphone.

Settings and saved timing results

Tempo preferences, saved settings and practice timing results are stored locally on your device. Only practice rounds you explicitly choose to save enter your practice log. Saved rounds contain timing results and related practice details such as tempo, meter, input method and date, not voice recordings.

You can delete saved rounds from their detail page in History and remove saved settings from Saved settings. Device or cloud backups may include local app data according to your Apple device settings. Backup services are controlled by you and Apple.

Purchases

Apple handles BeatPop Pro purchases and payment information through the App Store. BeatPop checks verified purchase status to unlock Pro and restore purchases. The developer does not receive your payment-card details. Apple's handling of App Store transactions is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Accounts, advertising and analytics

BeatPop does not require an account, include advertising or analytics tracking SDKs, or track you across other apps or websites. The app does not transmit your practice data to a developer-operated server.

Microphone permission

BeatPop requests microphone access for Voice practice. You can change or revoke this permission in iOS or iPadOS Settings. The metronome and Tap practice do not require microphone access.

Support messages

If you email support, the developer receives the email address and any information you choose to include, and uses them to respond to your request. Email is handled by the email providers involved. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed to resolve your question. You may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing the contact below.

This website

The public website is hosted by GitHub Pages. It does not include advertising, analytics scripts, contact forms or third-party embedded media. GitHub may process technical request information, including IP addresses, to operate and secure its hosting service. See the GitHub General Privacy Statement. Website hosting is separate from BeatPop's on-device audio processing.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to support, contact the developer to request its deletion.

Changes

If the app's data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated. The effective date above identifies the current version.
